It’s only when you spend time with yourself without distractions do you really acknowledge the pain you’re carrying. That is what I discovered anyway. My journey of self-discovery opened a world full of exciting new possibilities but also made me sit up and notice my spiritual wounds. Through a lot of spiritual guidance, self-help books and meditation I came to the conclusion that the only way you can truly heal and be the best version of yourself is to face head on what’s hurt you in the first place and so my healing journey began.
In the words of Marianne Williamson ‘In order to have your best future you need to clean up the past’. Most of us have experienced trauma in this life and if not this life definitely from past lives. The thing is we carry unresolved issues from lifetime to lifetime and we also carry the trauma of our ancestors too…realistically we all need healing no matter what our current life circumstances are. We are not brought up to surrender to our pain and then in turn release the energy in a healthy way and let it go. We are taught to run away from our trauma, to distract ourselves, and to numb the pain with alcohol or meds or both. Suppressed emotions are one of the biggest causes of dis-ease and depression in our world. Once I opened myself up to this part of the process another mentor showed up this time in the form of Jenny Murphy, Reiki Master & Practitioner.
I met Jenny through a friend, and would you believe it was connected to those Angel cards again (‘there’s no such thing as coincidence’). Shortly after the Spirit Guide introduction (see Part 2) I was catching up with an old friend over dinner, and out came the Angel cards and I briefly told her a bit of my story, immediately she said ‘you need to meet my friend and Reiki teacher, Jenny Murphy and you need to do one of her Reiki workshops’. Yes, I certainly did need to meet Jenny Murphy. Talk about divine timing once again.
At the time I didn’t know much about Reiki, I had one session a few years previous and didn’t really understand what it was. I just knew it made me feel a lot better afterwards, but I had a strong sense that Reiki was the right next step for me. As it turned out Jenny was hosting a Reiki 1 workshop a few weeks later. I rang her immediately to book a spot. With her warm, bubbly nature, I liked her straight away and it felt like I had known her for ages. But what really grabbed my attention was that she pointed out that I had a heaviness in my shoulder and my neck, this was correct and bear in mind the conversation was over the phone, but she was still able to feel that from me. I didn’t need any more evidence. I couldn’t wait to get started. But first things first, I needed to start clearing some of this blocked energy in my chakras before the workshop, so I booked a full Reiki session with Jenny beforehand.
Usually a Reiki session is around 90 minutes, but Jenny worked with what was needed, working on a transpersonal level, working with mind, body, spirit and soul levels, my session ended up being 3 hours long!!! This was another profound time in my journey. Jenny works with angelic energy and in particular the energy of Mother Mary, so Jenny also receives messages from Spirit. We spent the first half of the session discussing my life issues at that point and there were many as I was going through a major transformation on a business, personal and spiritual level…. let’s just say we had a lot to talk about. Jenny intuitively picked up on some of my issues before I managed to say them out loud, which again bowled me over (this was becoming the norm for me now). The whole experience was fantastic, I received some valuable messages and the healing was extraordinary. I literally floated home afterwards. The major thing I noticed was that I was no longer full of anxiety about the future. Literally, the fear was GONE and in its place was enthusiasm and excitement for what lay ahead. I feel the combination of opening myself up spiritually, daily mediation and this Reiki session with Jenny contributed to this new lighter version of myself.
The Reiki workshop a few weeks later surpassed my expectations. We could feel the angelic presence in the studio that whole weekend, it was so special and beautiful. I loved it. The perfect thing about Reiki 1 is that you learn to heal yourself first and that is what I needed more than anything at that point. ‘You can’t fill from an empty cup’. I felt like I was given the tools to really go deep on my healing journey… I was now armed and ready to go!
Of course, I had to ask Jenny along so she could talk more about what Reiki really is and ‘US as Energy Beings’ and most importantly how she ended up communicating with Angels and using her hands to heal many people by becoming a Reiki Master.
So, Jenny, thanks a million for agreeing to be part of this blog and I really appreciate you taking the time to talk to us about Reiki and all things angelic 🙂 As I mentioned, it’s been a big part of my self-discovery journey. So, tell us your story, how did up end up communicating with Angels?
Thank you, Yvonne, it’s my pleasure, to share with you and to share your blog with my Instagram followers, my passion is to raise awareness and consciousness, so thank you.
To be honest with you, it was through my journey into healing that I redeveloped my connection to Angels, I forgot as a child I was completely open to spirit, energies and my guides. I shut it down around seven years of age; I prayed every night to Mother Mary, that I would not see anything. Its gas, I often asked, why is at night time, that you become aware of spirit, which I have come to understand, it’s the time we relax, wind down and connect back into our source.
To answer your question, when I was attuned into Reiki, it opened up all my intuitive gifts again, and as I healed, I just assumed seeing angels and physic phenomena, was part and parcel of the Reiki energy, until I fully healed my fears and remembered a lot of which I blocked from my younger years.
What exactly is Reiki, how would you describe it?
Reiki is a Japanese word, (Rei) meaning Universal, Divine or spiritual and (Ki) meaning Life Force or Energy. Reiki is the energy that exists in everything living, it is pure life-force energy, the same invisible force that brings life into this MATTER of ours called our BODY, that same invisible energy holds planets together and breaths everything into existence. We never question the air that we breathe; it is a given fact that this invisible element oxygen breathes life into our world on a very physical level.
On a higher level of existence Rei-Ki, is the universal breath, which breathes spirit into our being. Rei-KI is a powerful natural system that unlocks the inner flow of vital energy, restoring and balancing the energy systems in all living things.
How does Energy work?
We all have an energy field (aura) surrounding our physical body. We are alive because this life force is flowing though us. Life force flows within the physical body through pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis and flows around us forming the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions, when this flow of life force is disrupted, or blocked it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body, which weakens the aura, over time this can lead to loss of energy, illness, stress and effects our immune and nervous system.
The aura is responsive to thoughts, feelings and our environment. It becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts, beliefs, feelings about ourselves and our life. We can store our past (unresolved experiences) beliefs, emotions in what we call cellular memory, which can cause a disruption in the flow of life force, I call them energy knots, that block our flow. Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body, the emotional body and the mental body, where the thoughts, memory and feelings are attached. This causes the blocks and energy knots to dissipate and dissolve, in doing so, Rei-ki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way. We experience that on a physical level, our symptoms start to reduce, we start to heal, and the side effect is, we feel better.
Who is actually doing the healing?
Reiki is a healing energy of the universe, with an infinite creative intelligence which brings about balance, love and harmony in everything it touches; so the Rei-Ki will flow to where it’s needed in the body, it is in synchronicity with the divine and restores wholeness. As I work with Angels, I can hold a high vibration and pass on angelic light healing and Rei-Ki energy. The healing flow is not directed by my mind or my energy but by the subconscious desire of the person receiving the healing (the healee’s desire) to be in balance or to be healed. The person having the healing, will only take what they are willing to receive,
How did you get into Reiki?
I went through a personal loss, which started a re-awakening process, to the inner voices of my soul; I started to question a lot in my life. Around that time, I was staying overnight at a hotel, where there was a Reiki workshop taking place and something stirred inside me. I contacted the guy, who was also an intuitive, he recognised I had this golden energy and wanted to work with me; I was intrigued and wanted to learn more.
When was the light bulb moment for you, that this was your calling?
My very first attunement into the Rei-Ki energy, I had the most profound spiritual experience, that became the start of the rest of my life, it was like my guides, were waiting for me to sit still long enough to download my manual for life, everything just opened up for me, It felt like this knowing, I AM exactly where I am meant to be. I synchronised with my Soul purpose, that day, it became the first day of an amazing, never boring, journey into my life, my purpose, my passion.
Life remained with the same challenges, but I faced and went through life with a completely different outlook and energy, I began to face what life put in front of me, what I now call, life lessons, or opportunities for growth. I stopped avoiding my challenges, with people, relationships, confidence, speaking my truth, saying NO and basically taking care of myself.
In order to practise Reiki, you must be attuned by a Reiki Master, can you explain what this means?
A Rei-Ki attunement is a sacred spiritual process basically to turn on the flow of Rei-Ki energy, which must be carried out by Rei-Ki Master, someone who lives the Rei-Ki practice and has had extensive training and experience, in order to teach the system and be a guide to the new student. I would suggest a recommended Rei-Ki Master, as this is a spiritual practice, it is best to know that you have chosen a Rei-Ki master who lives and keeps sacred, these ancient healing practices.
You have been practising intuitive/psychic spiritual healing for many years. In the early days, it must have been difficult to have a profession in this kind of thing as it wasn’t really accepted by the majority. How did you manage this and keep going with your life purpose?
I have faith and belief in what I do, I absolutely love to see people empowered and love to hear all the stories of the great stuff happening in the ordinary lives of people that is what has kept me going. Its gas really, I somehow attract a lot of left brained people, sceptics, really closed off people, but I see fear and people needing help and because it’s not so much ME, doing the work, something bigger than me, takes over and the right words , insights , healing flow, connection takes place. I just go with the flow and what I call the mini miracles take place for the ordinary person, it doesn’t matter who it is, I believe who needs me, finds me, my work is 99 per cent word of mouth. My passion is being able to really help people, out of stuckness, sadness, fear and back onto their life path. I am driven by passion.
Miracles do happen and you have helped to heal so many people throughout your many years doing this. Tell us the most profound moment of your healing career?
God, where to start, my thoughts are brought to young people afraid to live and not liking being alive, it’s a good moment to feel that shift in the room and a tight hug of thanks as they leave with a plan, their plan, a light turned on, that is a miracle to me. I call my work, mini miracles, it’s the couple that remember love and decide to love each better, or the person who finds the strength to move on from a bad relationship, the pregnancy that happens, the all clear from cancer, healing the fear of cancer and living without the fear of it coming back, overcoming trauma, healing from abuse and living life, being happy, a big one is getting over past bad relationships and finding a completely different type, so attracting someone better, a better love, commitment, getting the promotion, feeling good things happening for you, winning when you never won anything, healing your finances, all of a sudden you are doing more in your life, you have attracted new friends, you are having better relationships with your family, old rifts are being healed, you can tolerate life and people. A woman who was given 5 weeks to live, signed herself out of hospital, came to see me and is still living and that is eight years ago. The woman whose liver was failing and needed a liver transplant, it took her about 15 minutes to actually walk her into my cabin and she flew out. I meet her in a shop a week later pushing a trolley, all her liver function tests went back to normal. Fibromyalgia, three different cases, all women, their pain completely stopped, vertigo clearing up, IBS, cysts clearing, old injuries clearing up.
As I type, the list goes on, that’s why I call them the everyday mini miracles, for ordinary people from medical conditions to people achieving personal resolution to some of life’s hardest difficulties and finding peace and happiness.
What I love is that even if the client does not believe in the spiritual side, the healing still works. Do you get many people that do not believe in the spiritual aspect? And if so, do many change their opinion after a session with you?
I can answer yes to that question, I think many do change their minds about the healing work and a lot of people come to learn how to do their own self-healing practice, because something always shifts inside them, there is always a recognisable difference for the person, it is such a personal experience, so completely unique to the needs of the person, whether on a physical level, an emotional level, even spiritual or soul healing. I would often have people not wanting to leave, they stall, it’s like they don’t want to leave the peace, they feel. I often joke with people about how they were hesitant to come and I can’t get them to leave.
You teach people through your workshops how to work with the Law of Attraction/manifestation. Tell us a bit about that?
I have trained many people into all levels of Angelic Rei-Ki self-healing practice, which is the basis into their own soul journey, as part of that healing journey, I run Soul:Soul workshops, for ongoing training and exploration into deeper understanding of all aspects of ourselves. I am a law of attraction coach and advocate of these spiritual practices, that are foundational for us all. So I love to run workshops in teaching techniques in manifesting for better living, clearing our blocks to money, love, careers, relationships, and co-creating for a better future … especially coming up to the start of each new year. These workshops provide a space, for introspection, planning, clearing and the magic recipe – using the power of healing, aligning with higher abundant vibrations to manifest.
You also host many other self-development workshops. Tell us more about these workshops.
The Soul:Soul workshops, I run to support spiritual and personal growth stages, in topics that are relevant, either to do with universal planetary shifts and vibrational alignments for soul growth at times of soul expansion. I run some really beautiful workshops in Soul connection, themed exploration journeys into levels of consciousness, self-awareness, inner child healing, mindfulness, stress reduction, overcoming negative belief systems, mindsets, working with the shadow aspects, positive psychology, chakra systems, connecting with your Angels, healing days with the Angels, working with Arc angels and Guides.
What is your biggest takeaway from your spiritual career so far?
My biggest takeaway from my career so far, is what I have gained personally as a soul and the privilege of being part of all the soul lessons that I have shared with so many people, the stories of incredible human love, challenges, suffering, hardship, sacrifice and survival and the power of the human mind, the strength of spirit in everyday lives, some of these stories are extra ordinary undocumented feats of strength and healing journeys that have not only shaped their lives but mine. We are all connected and as one life shifts and changes, this heals the generational cycles, as we heal and live more consciously a better life, we heal for our parents, our children and our future grandchildren, more soul light and higher consciousness is anchored on our planet, lifting the vibrations for us all. For our planet to heal and live more consciously.
And finally, what advice would you give to those who are starting on their path of self-discovery or who have had a full-on spiritual awakening?
Life is a journey, if you are reading this, you are on your journey, so you have woken up, to the soul and the life process, for many of us, our life journeys is to clear up unfinished business and leave this planet with less baggage or karma, that is why I call my Reiki workshop for self-healing, clearing up the clutter, to become the best form of yourself.
My advice to you is don’t take anything too personal, we are all on the same journey, making the same mistakes, without mistakes we learn nothing, our mistakes are our greatest teachers. Stay true to YOU, make time for you and your practice, whatever that might be. For me, it’s Rei-ki living and healing as I go, I learn as I go. If an obstacle or a challenge presents its self to me, I work with what is in front of me, heal, realign and keep moving forward in life. Part of the Reiki healing process is clearing and healing blocks, whether in this life, in the now, or past life, which could be something we could not deal with ten years ago. Dealing with and healing some old stored emotional energy, this allows us to become the best form of ourselves, we don’t get as triggered by life. Another aspect of the Reiki healing process is clearing and healing our old sub consciousness programs; upgrading our consciousness and anchoring more light and love into our bodies and on to our planet. When our life cycle is complete and we move on, we leave this planet a better place, our light and love vibrations are contributed to the evolutionary cycle that we are all part of, for the benefit of our future generations to come and mankind.
Thank you for inviting me to be part of this blog, I am delighted to be part of your journey and have you as part of our Vibe Tribe restoring and sharing more light energy. Namaste and Rei-Ki blessings to all xxxx

https://www.topper.ie/events/180/ Reiki Practitioner level running 9th & 10th of November. Next year Rei-ki self-healing trainings – start back in February 2020
So, I am certified in Reiki 1 now, thanks to Jenny and I do plan to go on and do Reiki 2 this year. After the workshop I more or less did Reiki on myself every day for the first couple of months and now it’s on average 2/3 times a week to keep the vibes high, and the energy nicely flowing so you could call it a lifestyle now. I haven’t been sick since I started doing healing apart from a migraine which I got rid of after 10 minutes with Reiki so there you go. I think everyone should get Reiki attuned if only to heal just themselves, it will be a very good investment. Healing is an ongoing process especially with the world we live in so it’s important that we each learn the tools to help to heal ourselves and each other. It’s true what they say that living in the past creates depression and living in the future creates anxiety. I had both but I learned how to be present through meditation and alongside that I have wonderful spiritual helpers helping to heal my past so I can create my best future.
I hope you enjoyed this blog and if so then stay tuned for the next part of The Rabbit Hole where I visit my past lives through Quantum Healing Hypnosis and I get to interview Julia Balaz, the Hypnotherapist who hypnotised me. We go deeper, are you ready?! 🙂
As always, much love
